Burnette Architecture & Planning, P.A. has been privileged to provide planning and design services in coastal North Carolina and surrounding areas since 1993. Kenneth W. Burnette, AIA, a principal of the firm, has been designing in eastern North Carolina since 1978.

Our goal is to provide our clients with functional, durable, and attractive design solutions that more than satisfy their needs and budget. We achieve this through the development of a comprehensive and detailed program which focuses both the functional and physical requirements for successful design, and by maintaining a free flow of communication with the client, enabling refinement of the design process and the resultant design solution.

The buildings designed by our firm must survive the extremes of the eastern North Carolina environment. Extensive experience for over 30 years gives our firm a unique understanding of design concerns necessary for extended durability and life in such an environment. Proper design, detailing and material selection regarding flashing, roofing, windows, and other elements of the building are essential to long term durability and low maintenance.

We have performed forensic architectural investigation of problem structures and have advised owners as to corrective measures. We are also conversant with the increasing problems of mold and mildew, and the corrective procedures for such problems.

Our firm performs construction administration services to ensure that construction is conducted properly and in accordance with the contract documents.
